family medicine and expert skin cancer care

You're in safe hands at The Woods Medical Centre

We provide a complete range of GENERAL PRACTICE and SKIN CANCER MEDICINE

services for patients of all ages. From pre-natal care to vaccinations, men’s and women’s health and skin checks using the most advanced technology.

The Woods Medical Centre is a small, doctor-owned and operated medical practice that offers the personalised, high-quality medical care that you and your family deserve.

Situated in a beautiful heritage building off Scarborough Beach Road, Scarborough with plenty of parking available - we welcome both new and existing patients.

Our founding Doctor and owner, Dr. Angie (Angeline) Barker created The Woods Medical Centre in 2008 because she believed that patients needed better family medicine services than corporate practices were delivering. Dr. Barker and her colleagues have since built a family medical centre that really values personal health and combines this with their expertise in Skin Cancer detection and management.

With our caring, experienced and welcoming environment, you'll feel completely at ease when you visit our quality-accredited practice.

Our Team

About Us

We understand that healthcare is personal

Our founding Doctor, Dr. Angie Barker created The Woods Medical Centre back in 2008 because she believed that everyone should have access to a family doctor that can be there for their entire health journey.

She wanted to combine this belief with her expertise in Skin Cancer treatment and has since grown the practice alongside her colleagues who are also recognised for their skills in family medicine and skin cancer detection and management.

We are available - emergency appointments available

We know that the nature of health needs are that they can be unexpected. We always try to ensure you can be seen within an appropriate timeframe. Life may be unpredictable but we make sure you can depend on us to be there for your care.

We are experts in our field

Our doctors are all General Practitioners (GPs) who have gone on to do extra training in different areas of interest.  Dr. Angie Barker holds a Fellowship with the Skin Cancer College Australasia, which is considered the highest qualification available to GPs working in skin cancer medicine. Dr. May Sian Oh holds the Advanced Clinical Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery and Dermoscopy.
