Meet Our Doctors
Dr. Angie (Angeline) Barker
MBBS FRACGP FSCCA DPD
Experience & Professional Interests:
I graduated from UWA in 1989 and completed my GP Fellowship in 1995. I have always had a special interest in dermatology and completed my Diploma in Practical Dermatology through Cardiff University in 2009.
After nearly 25 years in General Practice, I moved on to practice in Skin Cancer and Dermatology only, and was awarded my Fellowship by the Skin Cancer College Australasia in 2013.
I opened The Woods Medical Centre in 2008, in Woodlands, starting with a team of three. Over the years the Practice has grown, and in 2017 we moved to the beautiful heritage building in Scarborough that we now occupy.
I particularly enjoy the surgical side of Skin Cancer work, and there is a lot of it in this beach-side suburb! I am a tutor for the Advanced Certificate in Skin Cancer Medicine and Surgery offered through the SCCA, and also serve on the College Board.
Outside of work:
I live locally with my husband and two cats. We have four children between us who are now grown up and moved out and I am one of the goalies for Hale Hockey Club.
Favourite saying: No pain, no gain. No guts, no glory!
Least favourite saying: It is what it is.
